Jack in the Pumpkin

Collin's LOVE for pumpkins officially began the day we wandered through the Thomasson Family Farm and he was able to pick out his own pumpkin.

I'm not sure what exactly caught his eye, maybe it's that the pumpkin is miraculously shaped like a ball, which he is a huge fan of, or that it happens to be one of his favorite colors, orange. Regardless he has developed a fond relationship with the pumpkin.

Ever since Collin brought home his perfectly shaped orange pie pumpkin, which he chose to proudly display in our front window, he quickly trots down stairs upon rising and checks on it's status. After a quick glance and double checking that both his and kylen's pumpkins are still there, counting "ONE"..."TWO".... he's content, and begins reminiscing about his glorious trip to the farm.  He also frequently mentions that he would like to have  a "Bite" of his pumpkin so we gave him that opportunity. ......

We went to the store and picked out another perfect medium sized pie pumpkin, carved it out, and Collin enthusiastically helped to scrape out all the gooey, slimy pulp, eagerly and expressively tossing it aside...never mind the previously perfectly clean kitchen floor..100_3485

He happily taste-tested his prized possession, and helped to mix up an aromatic, delicious SantaFe style stew, stuck it in the oven to bake and whaaala....a delicious soup. ..Which like most normal toddlers he refused to eat upon completion. ..maybe next time!
