Fall is bitter sweet for me.
Bitter because summer officially comes to a close which means no more evenings spent playing outdoors, the sound of laughter from the neighborhood children lingering throughout the neighborhood is gone, the sun disappears behind the horizon way too early, and winter is right around the corner.
Sweet because I love the crisp morning air, the beautiful changing colors, the sound of the fallen leavens crunching underneath my feet, the aroma of fall, and the idea of harvest and all the fun festivals that take place.
This year fall has been more sweet than bitter, mostly because of the arrival of our precious Kaylie, and all of the wonderful family that has flown in to meet her.
We have also had so much fun meandering through many of our local farms and watching Collin's eyes light up at the sight of all the tractors, and farm animals, and the Thomasson Family Farm was no exception! This time we were lucky enough to have Kylen, Kellie and Nicole join us. We rode tractors, went for a hay ride, pick out a pumpkin, played in the dirt, pet the animals and all the other dirty, fun-mud stomping activities you get to do at a farm!
Kylen was adorable with Kaylie and LOVED her new little cousin to pieces. When I would ask Kylen if I could take Kaylie back from her, she would tighten her grip around Kaylie and in a sweet, very innocent little voice say "no-no"
The kids played in the bubbles and had so much fun sharing....yes that's right, they actually shared!
We spoke with Collin a lot about the idea of sharing his toys before Kylen arrived, and when the time came he did very well and we had few toddler meltdowns which says a lot in itself!
After Kylen went home, whenever we mention her name Collin says " bye-bye" "share, all gone"...meaning he doesn't have to share his toys anymore....well, we're still learning!
Collin is very enthusiastic in the kitchen and LOVES to cook and bake, so while mommy was quietly tucked away in her bed, snoozing the afternoon away, Collin and Nicole made up a tasty little treat for us all to share.
YUM, I LOVE chocolate! :)
Like always, we had a fabulous time with you guys and we can't wait for you to come visit again..did I forget to mention that half of our neighborhood is up for sale? When are you moving?
