Disgusting

Pure innocence and brutal honesty, It's a God given gift to toddlers, and Collin, he's no exception.

Among a laundry lists of other "firsts" recently discovered is the word Disgusting. Where, how, or when this little boy picked up the word I'm not exactly sure. But I can tell you that it came as a surprise, especially given in it's context.

...When your thirty, post pubescent, and gravity has taken its toll, you look a little different than the angelic body of a toddler. And when you enter your father's bedroom and unbeknownst to you he's modeling under-ware,  well "that's Disgusting dad" followed by a boyish giggle and a departure from the bedroom.

...or when your mother's singing a song she believes is so dear to your heart and you find it an inappropriate time to be singing or you simply don't like her tune, just holler. "Stop singing mama,  disssguuusting. I no like that!"

Thank you God, thank you for brutal honesty and simplicity in the form of a toddler. Thank you for finding innocent ways to point out our imperfections.

Cheers to you and your week. May it be blissfully simple and honest.
