Last weekend we visited an enchanted tree farm. We paroled throughout the trees looking for that PeRFeCt TrEe, and after a long debate finally found it.......or did we?
The tree remains with it's roots intact and nestled firmly in the ground. Not because we are scrooge, and definitely not because the magic of Christmas doesn't exist within our home, because it does. Not because Jolly Old Saint Nick won't pay a little visit, because YES, we've been good (or have we?) and he will. And not because Christ doesn't mean Christmas in our home, because he does. And it's not because we will be departing from Seattle to share the beautiful holiday spirit with our loved ones. It's because our enormous fifteen hundred square foot home doesn't make the best of homes for a beautiful Nobel or Douglas Fir and we can still get away with it. Next year our perfect Christmas tree will be replacing our kitchen table if it has to!
After finding our perfect tree, we gathered in doors for cider and cookies, and relished in good company.
And came home with our beautiful wreath!
