I think we're finally ready!???!?!??!?? We've prepared frozen meals, done all of the odd end jobs around the house, and we finally pulled out all of the "baby essentials"...the swing, the bouncer, the pack and play etc. We've spoke with Collin a lot about baby's arrival and how life will be once baby arrives. And I must say Collin is somewhat understanding the concept of baby as much as a toddler can truly comprehend the changes that are about to take place.
He LOVES sharing tender hugs and kisses. He lifts up my shirt and presses his lips on my belly, and gently pats my stomach as he says "baby," and every morning when Collin awakes, he runs into our room and checks the bassinet, gently tilts it and peeks his head inside blurting out "Baby, baby" followed by a "Waa Waa Waa"
As for Tyler, he has had enough of his couvade that he can possibly take. He's irritable, short fused, complains of weight gain ;) and recently requires nothing short of 9 1/2 hours of sleep each night accompanied by long afternoon naps when time permits. Last night my emotional little hubby even became teary eyed as the movie New in Town (www.newintownmovie.com), starring Renee Zellweger came to a close. WHAT????? Has anyone seen that? Cute, quirky, a nice little romantic love story...but a tear jerker????...only for the truly emotional.
Hurry up baby, Daddy can't take any more of his emotional roller-coaster! ..Your bed is ready, onsies and blankets are washed, diapers are stocked, and arms are awaiting lots of snuggles.
We love you little one and can't wait to meet you!
