This kind of Love

As church came to a close and we made our way though the crowd to the nursery to pick Collin up we quietly spied on our little angel as he played with all the other kids. Where did we find him? ...Not with all the cars, trucks, blocks, and all the other "boy stuff", no he was working in the play "kitchen" mixing up some soup and preparing to heat it up, just like his grandma taught him! I am convinced that inside our little boy is a growing inspired chef.

But this was not the beauty or the heart melting moment of the situation. As Collins ears caught sound of our voices he immediately set aside his toys, and as fast as his little legs could carry him he wove in and out of the maze of toys and kids that obstructed his path towards us. He ran with open arms and the biggest grin we have ever seen, with uplifted arms, eagerly waiting for a big hug and kiss.

Being a parent brings a kind of love to your heart that you never knew possible, a growing, rupturing volcano of love.  Tyler and I just smiled at each other appreciating the moment for what it was worth, and we both tucked it away in our hearts as a memory ....after all, these years of being highly adored by our children will most likely be very short lived.
