Story Time

one of my favorite moments each day is right before we settle into story time. Collin picks out a couple of his favorite books (typically the same ones everyday), carries them over to me, and then gently pats my legs to notify me that he is about to nuzzle his way onto my lap, and  he quickly wiggles into the perfect position. He eagerly opens a book, and then gently wraps one arm behind my back letting me know he is ready to indulge in a good read. Together we tell stories, and I secretly cherish every moment of it.

At home story time is much different than joining story time at our local library. There he loves shouting out in excitement at the mere joy of being surrounded by all the other toddlers, he runs circles around the room, climbs the fire safety ladder that nestles against the wall, and attempts to climb the story time table that nicely displays all of the books and nursery rhymes that are to be read, and anything else imaginable other than peacefully sit still and enjoy the stories. Actually we have kindly been asked to refrain from joining story time until Collin is able to sit still quietly....hmm it could be awhile! In the mean time I will continue to cherish our own story time snuggled up together.
